Pros
Guaranteed 40 hours, indoor job, no manual labor, allowed to sit or stand for as long as you want.
Cons
One giant headache; You are forced to sit at a table anywhere from 1-4+ hours at a time watching the same game over and over again. If you complain or ask for a different table, it is mentioned on your quarterly review as “something to work on.” I cannot stress this enough: it is against the rules to leave your table for any reason without going through management first. Management is also well within their power to deny you leaving the table, no matter the situation. Most shifts are 10 hours long, meaning you work 4 days a week, but have to stay 10 hours a day. Depending on your clock in time, it is impossible to have a life outside of work due to the detriment on your sleep schedule. Beyond that, management can’t decide what rules they want to enforce, so every supervisor is completely different. For a company that markets itself as “hiring from within,” the people in charge of entry-level positions are extremely out of touch. They lack basic empathy. Moreover, the attendance policy markets itself as being “no fault,” which is a glorified term to say “we don’t care what happened, if you call out, you will get written up.” If you demand to leave with over an hour of your shift still ahead of you, it counts as a standard infraction. Many ex-employees got fired for calling out or leaving early due to a car accident or medical emergency. There is no such thing as an excused absence, they do not take doctor’s notes. They only use doctor’s notes to clear you to come back to work. They will sometimes ask employees to submit positive reviews online for a chance to win a gift card. Management will also blatantly talk poorly of employees between themselves and also to other gaming associates. There is also a blatant display of favoritism from certain members of management. Also! Don’t expect your schedule to be posted on the app in time! There is no room for career growth unless you want to work with the company for the rest of your life, and they do not offer tuition assistance.
