Pros
- getting fewer but you can sometimes find work that is interesting and challenging - work life balance
Cons
- government sponsors are citing our high costs as an issue which has led to removal of experienced engineers off projects in favour of junior staff - inability of senior and executive leadership ranks to see that they are protecting their (expensive) peers on indirect budgets which add to our costs. - because of above two points, the experienced technical workforce is getting sidelined for a multitude of chiefs (of sll sorts), managing directors and directors. Somehow they have abundant funding while the technical workforce scrambles for work and budget. Irony is that expensive chiefs are telling technical staff to staff junior employees. Anyone have a mirror for them?
