Pros
Stable job, highly unlikely you'll ever be laid off in any area of the company... once you're in the MTA, you can move to another position... other departments are not miserable to this extent... much more livable...the pay is decent and livable, you'll always be ok, but just OK. If you don't have a degree you can get in the door at a low level and the potential for you could be excellent! Health, retirement benefits are excellent!
Cons
I worked in the audit department... depressing and not fulfilling... if you want your wings clipped, stay here a few years. Management is terrible, and it comes from the very top... they toy with their employees mentally, which makes for a tense environment and low morale. The silence in the office was thick.. in addition to that, the department doesn't really make much of a difference... your "findings" as an auditor will be ignored and then you'll be hassled about "project budgets" which are completely imaginary and out of your control... I really felt it wasn't even a real job... nothing but a paycheck here... use this as a stepping stone job, get a degree while you're there, get the experience to put on your resume to go somewhere else... don't get stuck here...
