Pros

The creative team is exceptionally talented, the direct manager is supportive of work-life balance, the product design is beautiful, and the location offers great access to coffee, food, and the beach.

Cons

I didn’t last long — first time ever I was let go — it wasn’t the right fit on either side. If you’re a creative who values strategic thinking, process, and long-term brand building, this environment may feel more reactive than intentional. Turnover was extremely high — five people were let go during my first days — and much of the work centered on chasing other brands. Direction shifted almost daily, and brand standards mimicked whoever was the flavor du jour. That said, the creative team was talented and welcoming, and my direct manager prioritized work-life balance, which was a bright spot. The packaging is beautifully designed, and the location is great for grabbing coffee or going to the beach after work. The challenge is the founder’s unpredictable behavior. Team meetings turned into heated monologues and 5-minute yelling and pop quiz sessions that went absolutely nowhere — creating an environment with no clear outcome, no direction, lost in translation, literally. As skincare evolves toward science-backed performance and longevity — not some mystical backstory— the MLM model here feels increasingly out of step in my view, especially for creatives wanting to build lasting, authentic brands. If you're considering a role, be aware: there’s creative talent and good design here, but also extreme volatility at the top. Ask about expectations and especially how feedback is handled before diving in.

Pros

The company is run by a very passionate founder who also has two daughters that are on site. This is a pro in my eyes. I can't stress enough how cool it is to hear from the founder directly, and the story behind how the brand became what it is today. The Oliveda products are the top-of-the-line and the world needs more company's like this. The office is in the most popular area of Venice, right next to the Venice sign and the beach. The team is full of people with high energy, ideas, and talent. It is a very relaxed work schedule, you arrive early, you leave a little earlier, you arrive later, you leave a little later. I actually have never worked somewhere with a work/life balance this healthy. My final pro is that this company truly has so much growing to do in the future. With A+ products, passionate leadership, positive teammates, and a dedication to it's consumers, I feel incredibly lucky to be part of OIiveda.

Cons

I don't have any cons, the company is growing, new teammates are being hired, and I believe nothing but good things to come in the future.

Pros

People like the products, many of the employees are talented and hardworking, and there are good people throughout the organization who work very hard despite the issues.

Cons

My experience was heavily impacted by the leadership style of the owner/founder. Feedback was often inconsistent, expectations frequently changed, and success metrics were not always aligned with industry standards or data-driven marketing practices. I found it difficult to execute effectively because recommendations based on current website architecture, SEO, advertising, and performance marketing best practices were often dismissed in favor of personal opinions. This created an environment where expectations could feel unrealistic and where it was difficult to establish clear definitions of success. Communication could also be harsh and most often discouraging. I witnessed employees become visibly upset after interactions with leadership, and morale often suffered as a result where tensions ran high due to the owner. Constructive disagreement was not always welcomed, which limited collaboration and made it difficult for subject-matter experts to contribute their expertise. I frequently took on responsibilities beyond my role, and was committed to helping the company succeed. Unfortunately, my efforts were often overshadowed by shifting expectations and personal criticism rather than objective performance discussions.
