Pros

The CEO and president are awesome. Ed Stack and Lauren are amazing leaders. The concept is great and the company has great values. Benefits were awesome and great campus. Pittsburgh metro area which is a great area to live.

Cons

Everything else was awful. Lots of favoritism towards internal people who transferred from DSG from middle management. Buyers can’t do anything wrong and yet they don’t even know how to run a selling report. No clear direction and no process in place. Long hours of things that could have been avoided. Doing OTB twice a month and wasting time on it for nothing. No assortment planning online tools. Everything is on excel so if you’re not a super user you’re screwed and mistakes easily happen. Over analyzing everything and no decisions being made. No help from middle management. Their great place to work results were always awful at public lands. No work life balance. Had to work on sundays and long hours at night during the week.

Pros

The mission statement that I was told is cool. That's why I accepted their offer to work there. Many cool items sold there are nice. I liked my co-workers.

Cons

This company is horrible. People at the top are liars, cheats, villains. Public Lands boasts that they're trying to stand up for our public lands but the amount of good, usable and recycle-able stuff they forced us to through out into dumpsters defies that. It's all a game to these people. Nothing is genuine. It's about getting people to believe the mirage and then seeing what people will spend. People have become wise and this place is going away fast.
