Pros

work independently, control your own environment for the most part, not having to deal with a lot of people/things happening in the outside world

Cons

Hard on your car, tons of miles and gas every day of the year--be careful to avoid really rural routes where the stops can be like 7 minutes in between, they don't compensate you fairly for how long it takes and how much driving it is--quick turnover across the board, which makes it a totally unstable and chaotic place for everyone who works there (had one supervisor per month I have worked there so far), money consistently missing from my check, if you don't come in for your shifts last minute they fine you twice what you make doing the route, and also the routes only pay for delivery, but you spend hours and hours every week packing up the papers, too. On Saturdays and Sundays putting the papers together takes 3 hours and delivering them takes 5-6 (versus weekdays 1 hour to prepare them and maybe 4-5 to deliver) but Saturdays and Sundays only pay less then $10 more than other days of the week. One supervisor sexually harassed me, made racist jokes, and made fun of people with disabilities. No time off ever for anyone makes this a totally unstable workplace, almost no one is willing to do this job unless they have no other options, like if they are a single parent and need something they can do overnight while their kids sleep, have some kind of background check issues, etc. Only the most marginal people in society would even consider doing this job, as evidenced by the rotating door of temps that staff almost every position. You will make more doing this as a temp, if you can, but doing a consistent route makes this job a lot easier.

Pros

You build a relationship with the delivery workers and it feels bored into help someone to get a job and that’s into every human resource generalist position I’ve had so I brought that along with me, but there is no pros

Cons

Leadership is disconnected to their workers, trends, compensation, and what each department does I do not want to bash this company however there is so much things that needs to be changed within this organization they change the human resource role from remote to night. I think that if they had a hybrid option, this could be more suitable.
