Pros

The team itself is amazing. This company has hired people who are passionate about helping kids. Working alongside such a great group of people to serve children and their families is amazing. This team of individuals has helped create the culture and values this company looks to stand by. Unfortunately, the Executive Director has destroyed the legacy of this company being able to continue providing high quality services alongside a dedicated team.

Cons

This company has not been receiving payments from its biggest insurance payor since October 2019. Since then, things have gotten shady when it comes to decisions made by the Executive Director. Team members and families are not being told the truth behind what is going on regarding a claims hold; it’s obvious in the very brief and shallow statements made by the Executive Director (if and when he decides to show his face to the team). Earlier this month he laid off several senior team members (among others) with less than 2 weeks notice and no severance package. These team members, some of whom had dedicated 8+ years to this company, were let go with little regard for them as human beings. Having to fight for their own earned wages such as PTO (since the company’s reason for being laid off was lack of funds and concern for maintaining payroll), it clearly shows how little team members are valued here. It’s disheartening as mentioned above how great the team is here, but the Executive Director has made sure to rip this work family apart little by little. After these lay offs occurred, multiple levels of team members (from entry level and up) were provided increases in pay. It’s baffling that the day team members are being laid off, others receive raises. If there’s one way to show how little you care about people, that’s certainly a way to do it. I would recommend anyone ever looking to work here or even those that are still employed to proceed with caution! Don’t believe everything you see and hear.

Pros

Good starting point for someone that’s new to the field. Working with the kids can be very rewarding when you see them progress in their skills. You can meet great colleagues along the way.

Cons

Management has poor communication. If one person messes up, there’s a team meeting addressing it instead of them talking to people individually, and the problem often doesn’t stay “fixed”. Some rules seem to only be enforced once management is upset or apply to some and not others. There is little to no in-clinic support from BCBA. Although supervision via telehealth is given, it’s not ideal, management knows this, and has said this, and continue working remotely more often than in clinic despite requests for their presence from staff and administration. Felt more revenue driven than therapy driven. Rather than addressing poor job performance, they’d put more complex clients with some RBTs instead of others, leaving the workload among employees unbalanced. People with more difficult caseloads would often get burned out quickly because of this. Even when problems were addressed with management by employees, their answer was always providing more supervision, which was often times not the solution, especially when one of the concerns was in person support and they just provide more remote supervision. HIPAA issues. After not working there for a while or using Zoom since working there, I went to go to my personal Zoom account and I still had access to all of the conversations and the company email address.
