Pros

You work with (some) very good people. The company sees the value of a remote team.

Cons

The greatest thing holding RCCS back is our CEO. We've lost a lot of people in the past year, including many in senior roles. Our last company meeting has finally convinced me it's time for me to join them. At our company all-calls (where attendance is taken, by the way), you can count on two things. IT will remind us that we're being watched and tracked like a bunch of toddlers, and Ron will make a tone-deaf, self-aggrandizing speech. This time, we were told that the company wants people who will make a career out of RCCS, and not just a job. Of course, he didn't give any reason why they should, because there aren't any. Tell us Ron, should we stay for the sub-par benefits and PTO? Should your constant badgering and unreasonable expectations make us want to stay? Are we supposed to discount our colleagues heading for the door as just a bunch of losers, as you seem to be implying? What is it?

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about our PTO polices, security policies and overall work environment. RCCS has always strived to promote an environment and work culture where everyone feels inclusive and appreciated so we are taking this very seriously. We do pride ourselves on the positive feedback we get from our employees on our work-life balance, flexibility and opportunity for growth within our organization. In regards to PTO, we use many tools and resources to ensure that we are staying competitive in the market which is why we also have personal days aside from PTO, 9 paid holidays and flexible work schedules. Our quarterly All Calls do also serve several purposes, we highlight our promotions within the company, birthdays, work anniversaries and it is a chance for everyone within the organization to hear about all of the exciting things that have happened during the quarter. Attendance is taken because of our annual trainings that occur such as our annual HIPAA/Compliance trainings to ensure we as a company, are compliant. The software on workstations also serve several purposes with security being #1. With the amount of phishing attempts that occur, we are able to pinpoint where that security breach came from if/when that does occur. It is not intended to make our employees feel as if they are being watched as we do respect privacy within reason. We are in the healthcare space so security is a priority. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with more specific information or suggestions on how we can improve. We are 100% committed to our employees and want to ensure everyone’s success!

Pros

I joined the company with no prior experience, and I appreciated the opportunities provided to learn new skills through conferences and course recommendations. The small size of the company facilitates direct communication with higher executives. Additionally, the company is flexible regarding outside work circumstances and offers great benefits.

Cons

Based on my personal experience, there are several areas of concern: - Accountability: There appears to be a double standard for employees with personal connections to management. There are individuals frequently pushing boundaries, such as joining meetings while driving, at a drive-thru, or watching TV, without facing repercussions. - Management Style: Due to the company's size, the CEO is heavily involved in daily tasks, often with unrealistic expectations. You will be asked to create healthcare content on unfamiliar subjects without assistance from SMEs, only to receive corrections after the content is live. - Leadership: Since the current Marketing Director joined, there has been a significant shift in the department. This includes aggressive cost-cutting, budget reductions, and the elimination of positions. The process often follows a pattern of questioning workloads before a sudden "new direction" meeting. - Strategy and Performance: There is a heavy reliance on AI tools for strategy and forecasting that does not get questioned by executives. Changes, such as the Weebly migration and rebranding, have significantly impacted their SEO traffic. Currently, the website's traffic is largely driven by events, past clients, and unqualified paid ads that often attract job seekers rather than potential clients. I learned a lot during my time in the role. But the environment under the new director was increasingly challenging. The management style significantly killed my creativity and created a high level of job-related anxiety. It reached a point where getting fired actually felt like a relief.
