Pros

* Performance is rated by output and accomplishments * Flexibility in how to approach work, as long as you've achieving good results * Fun office space with dogs and lots of fun cross org events

Cons

Currently privately owned by Blackstone. They have kept their distance so far and enabled our very competent management team to do good work, but I'm not sure that will continue indefinitely, when they are ready to sell.

Pros

Good work-life balance, collaborative engineering culture, dogs, two-sided marketplace is an interesting product to work on, forward-thinking about AI tools.

Cons

As the overwhelming market leader in the space (RIP Wag!), there is maybe some complacency.

Pros

Working at Rover has made me more appreciative over time, not less. Leadership is thoughtful, capable, and accessible. My coworkers are smart, curious, and genuinely good people—I learn from them every day. The team takes Rover’s values seriously and puts people first. The product isn’t perfect, but there’s real momentum to improve, modernize, and deliver more value to customers. It’s refreshing to work somewhere that does good work with good people, without sacrificing work-life balance to get there. I’m grateful for the experience—and aware it’s set a high bar for whatever comes next.

Cons

No workplace is perfect, and Rover isn’t an exception—but the downsides aren’t significant enough to be dealbreakers, in my opinion, especially if you’re looking for a company operating at our current stage and level of maturity.
