Pros
None really. Lots of flexibility, if one wants to consider that a "pro". What this really means is that there is zero structure in the organization. It's a catch as catch can and just try to get things done environment. I suppose the highlight of each month are the Townhalls where the CEO - almost arbitrarily - chooses a few employees and simply destroys them. It's like our own local version of Donald Trump.
Cons
Across the board terrible; just terrible. Shine is a broadly dysfunctional organization that is mostly propped up by massive government support and debt-financing. It is amazing how bad the culture becomes at a company that has no eye on profitability. 1. The CEO is a total nut case. This guy doesn't know if he is coming or going. There are monthly townhalls, and each brings a new strategic objective. 2. The entire, literally entire, leadership team has never worked for any company other than Shine. Most are young and vastly inexperienced or unqualified for their roles. The result is a consistent stream of failed initiatives. 3. Shine is technically a "pre-revenue" organization. This means that they are always on a cash burn. For a start-up this is normal. 15 years in and with 300 employees, there should be some revenue. The company is entirely reliant on investor support, government handouts and debt-financing. There is always risk of imminent cash insolvency with the associated pain and suffering that comes with that.
