Pros
Sea-Bird is a small company where you can branch out and do a lot, if you want to. The work and science of the products is interesting. Despite some of the other reviews of bad managers, I mostly see managers trying to be fair in a somewhat challenging environment.
Cons
It's a Danaher company meaning: - Average to slightly below average pay and benefits. Danaher is never going to make their rank and file employees feel rich. - WAY too many expectations. Danaher doesn't care about a darn thing other than profit and the pressure to do that is intense - even more so than other corporations I've worked at. (This is why I feel managers try to be fair but sometimes get stuck in impossible situations with pressure from above.) There's always more work that can be handled, always fires to put out and turnover is high leading to more work... - The new president (2018) seems to be a Danaher proxy. He speaks in such annoying, pretentious and useless corporate speak that it's difficult to trust anything he says. He wants to be genuine but just never gets that right. He says a lot of words but nothing seems to have true meaning.
