Pros
This is absolutely the worst company I have ever and will ever work for. They position themselves as a well-funded, series B NYC start up working towards a positive mission (mission: creating more accessible and flexible work for hourly workers). If you're someone who wants to join a company where you'll have a lot of impact and work hard towards building something alongside smart coworkers- you would think you found a great company to work for. THIS IS WHERE YOU'D BE WRONG. The way they position themselves externally and to those interviewing is not how the company actually operates. They scam those who are interviewing. You will not feel like you're building something with a positive impact in the world. You will feel pushed into doing things in a certain way (sometimes forced to do manual work way below your pay grade) and given no transparency. Upper management (XFN) is not capable of letting go of any control, so despite this being a "startup" you are not given any autonomy to do things in a better way because you're ultimately not trusted nor respected. This company does not value quality of work, they only value the number of hours you spend online or in the office. On top of that, they continuously re-org, change priorities, so you can work really hard towards things that are deemed high priority just to get all of your work scrapped the following week or month. This happens too often. One more thing: they could not care less about the workers using the platform which is why they make no effort into any support when these workers have problems with the often extremely glitchy app. The only thing they care about is signing up big name companies to put the logos on the website (in reality, more than 75% of revenue comes from one enterprise customer, so I would be wary of the company's long term success.)
Cons
There are zero programs that exists towards helping employees. If you ask them about this, they will claim they're a series B start up and its just not priority right now or they'll say its "being worked on"-- I can assure you it is not being worked on. To be specific- there are no performance reviews, engagement surveys, clarity around where you career could go- there are no systems in place for employees to give feedback to the company. If you are still unsure about, ask someone about employee turnover. It is atrociously bad (I think about 40% turnover in the past year). Its a shame because they hire great, smart, successful people who they can't retain because once you start working there you realize it is the embodiment of a toxic, unhealthy work environment so these people leave.
