Pros
- Work from home - Lots of good people
Cons
- SirsiDynix was acquired by a huge company which is itself owned by an even larger company. The acquisition has not gone smoothly. Massive layoffs occurred with no pretext other than meaningless corporate jargon and doublespeak. Most employees do not trust the new owners, and for good reason. They have broken multiple promises, frequently saying one thing and doing another. They don't care about people - you are just a resource, a cog in the machine. Leadership seems to have a very "because I said so" attitude, which only contributes to employees seeing them as an adversary. - Compensation is sub-par, with almost no-one receiving even cost-of-living increases. - There is no stability. Developer teams feel like the rug is constantly being pulled out from under them. - This used to be a really great place to work. Somehow, our new owners and new leadership are even worse than the previous - a private equity investment company that knew nothing about software development.
