Pros

There are a TON of wonderful people who work here!!

Cons

They force employees to write positive reviews on Glassdoor as well as vote for them as "Best Places to Work". They recently fired a large number of long term, very valuable and committed employees as well as started to sub-lease office space they spent investor money on to construct/expand in anticipation of growth because of profitability issues. They lie to sales staff about the amount of money they collect from Cisco for Learning Credits in order to pocket more profits. High level leadership pretends to be Christian and family oriented, but they have no problem firing single moms, couples with children and asking working parents to sacrifice work/life balance at all costs. There are no "rules of engagement" in sales operations, Managers included. I have personally witnessed Managers stealing/unfairly splitting deals from their own team members to make quota. DON'T BELIEVE ALL THESE REVIEWS ON GLASSDOOR!!! There was a memo sent to all employees pressuring them to leave them here.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I also want to thank you for recognizing that we do indeed have "a TON" of wonderful people who work with us; couldn't agree with you more. It's what makes this place we built so special. No surprise, but that's where our agreement ends in your review regarding your impressions of StormWind. If you are indeed a current employee (we don't have anyone located up in San Rafael, by the way), it's clear that you are unhappy and think vastly differently than the great majority of team members who work so tirelessly alongside you. With that, I would frankly invite you to reconsider you hanging your hat at StormWind as I believe no one should be somewhere where they are clearly unhappy and have lost trust in the leadership team. If it is simply not feasible for you economically to leave at present, then I would encourage you to come to me, the CEO, CFO, or HR to talk about your concerns and impressions so we can tackle them one by one. It's clear we went off the rails with what you think this place is all about vs what is the reality. Let's try to clear that up as it would be better for everyone. Wouldn't you agree? Now on to your reckless, uninformed, and terribly pejorative comments: After leading sales and performance driven cultures for 23 years, unfortunately we sometimes hire folks who simply can not get the job done. Hitting numbers each month is difficult. Sales is, after all, tough. Selling complex IT solutions with multiple SKUs, price and value points is even more so. Some folks get it. Some folks do not. In short, you have to produce. Sometimes it simply comes down to ability vs desire. For instance, I have the desire to be quarterback for the Green Bay Packers. I, unfortunately, do not have the ability. We have hired many wonderful, talented, loving, funny, and uplifting people over the years. Sometimes in spite of someones desire and drive, it just doesn't work and, sadly, the results do not come. It does not make them a terrible person. It simply means that they can not contribute at a level we require to justify that seat. Perhaps they will be more successful selling a different kind of product in a different kind of environment. Welcome to a meritocracy. Welcome to accountability. Welcome to business. I would encourage you to stop being so naive about how the real world works; There are no participation trophies in this real world of ours. If you are indeed a current team member here at Stormwind, you already know how patient the entire team is to help someone get better in this very difficult profession. We offer free Sandler resources, book resources, call breakdowns, top reps available at all hours, leaders (including even me and the CEO) gladly make closing calls, when asked. In short, we throw the kitchen sink trying to get folks up to a competitive level of sales performance. And no, we don't "split" the commission with you, in spite what is said. Shame on you for that carless intimation. As far as questioning our leadership team's Christian values, I'll only borrow this from Tertullian, “If the Tiber rises too high, or the Nile too low, the remedy is always feeding Christians to the lions.” As far as what you say regarding "work/life balance," pardon me if I reference another great philosopher, this time Inigo Montoya, “You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means.” At StormWind, there are no required weekends. There are no pre-6:15 required start times. There are no requirements to work past 3:30pm. Now some successful folks may choose to work beyond these times, but some do not. If you think those "rigid" parameters inhibit ones work/life balance, I again question whether you really know the definition. I have 8 children (not a typo) and my work/life balance is just fine. Again, if you are really a current StormWind team member, you'd know that we would never hold anyone back from attending a child's pageant, a baseball game, a doctor appointment, etc. I know for a fact that the CEO would be personally upset if one of our team members ever missed an important life milestone or life event simply because of "work." That is evident to everyone here and has been for years. Lastly, as an executive and founder of this fine organization, I would be really interested to see this "memo" requesting GlassDoor reviews (Do folks even send out memos anymore? Do folks even use that word anymore? Is this memo dated from 1998?). Maybe it's a Pokemon Go memo that only exists in your fantasy world...like all of the other inane comments you made here. Nevertheless, I do appreciate your feedback, no matter how inaccurate it may be. I understand that sometimes perception is reality and it's clear that we as a leadership need to double our efforts to ensure that audacious impressions like yours stay firmly and exclusively in the wordl of Pikachu, Charmander, and Jigglypuff.

Pros

StormWind is a fast-paced sales environment that really pushes you to grow quickly, especially early in your career. It gives you a lot of real-world reps on the phone, which helps build confidence, resilience, and the ability to handle rejection. You learn how to structure conversations, stay consistent with outreach, and manage your activity using tools like Salesforce. While it can be intense, the experience forces you to develop discipline and sharpen your communication skills in a short amount of time. It’s a strong place to build a foundation in sales and gain experience that can open doors to other opportunities.

Cons

StormWind can feel very fast-paced and sometimes rushed, especially during training and onboarding, which can make it difficult to fully grasp the product and feel confident early on. The role is heavily call-driven and structured, which may not suit people who prefer more in-person interaction or a less repetitive day-to-day. There can also be a disconnect when speaking with highly technical clients, especially if you’re still learning the material, which can make conversations feel unnatural at times. Additionally, the culture may not be a fit for everyone, as it can feel isolating if you don’t naturally connect with the team dynamic.
