Pros

Solar energy is good for the environment and Sundog is a locally-owned business. Many of the coworkers and customers are super nice.

Cons

There is not a lot of planning and there is very high turnover. Processes and established and then either not followed or they fall apart. Employees are often putting out fires due to the disorganization and lack of communication.

Sundog Solar Response

Systems have been put into place to make workflows easier. As you know, there are always two sides to the story. We work hard to provide a good experience for our employees. Sometimes employees make mistakes and we want them to learn and grow by talking about ways to improve. Some people are not able to handle constructive criticism which can lead to hard feelings. We do the best we can without trying to hurt their feelings. Just an example, when a sales rep sells a system, we expect them to follow the process and ensure that their customer has a great experience. On installation day, if the sales rep doesn't show up at work until 10am, it puts the installation crew in a tough spot if they can't get answers. Our response is to ask the sales person to try and be there in the morning when the installation crew has questions. Most people can handle this reasonable request, but some cannot.

Pros

Employees all seem to love each other and create a family atmosphere. The company is thriving and growing and it is a fun opportunity to be a part of the process. The boss is a good person, and I believe in the cause.

Cons

The growing pains are being sorted out. The pace is quick and Communication is getting better between departments.
