Pros

Unlimited PTO, work from home, hard working teammates, knowledgeable teammates

Cons

Company culture is tanking in multiple departments. Extremely political, if you say one thing that could be twisted as critique against the company or product expect it to be brought all the way up the up. Executive Leadership is a joke and enhance their projected revenue numbers to the board. Leadership refuses to hire more people, only will if someone leaves even though so many teams are overworked and constantly asking for more heads. No respect for days off/people having to work on their days off. Multiple years in a row they have said there is no budget for promotions/raises. No 401k match. Middle management is pointless and bring zero value to customers because they have not gotten any proper onboarding or training on anything company specific to understand what the company/product can or cannot do. They are there to appease the executive team not support their individual contributors. Members of the leadership team can be extremely unprofessional on internal calls including: cursing, raising their voice/arguing, disrespecting other team members in public forum, or hanging up when someone disagrees with something.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We value receiving feedback and would like to clarify a couple of points made. Regarding investment in team members and compensation, we are currently investing in roles across the company which positions us for continued growth (see our careers page for a list of our current openings). We have an annual merit budget that has been in place, providing merit and promotional opportunities annually for eligible team members. We believe in allowing our employees to take time away from work to recharge. In the US, we have an open PTO plan for eligible employees and encourage employees to take time away from work. Managers do their best to respect these PTO days. Being a lean organization, we acknowledge there could be a situation where a team member may be asked to help on a PTO day however we don’t believe this is a common practice. In terms of leadership, our leadership team includes individuals with many years of cyber and tech experience. As a company we believe in a culture of accessibility, openness and transparency among our teams. We want leaders who are willing to challenge their team members and are able to have honest and candid conversations with each other and their teams. With that said, respect and trust is the foundation of any good company culture and we are disappointed to hear about any cases where any leaders here acted in an unprofessional or disrespectful manner. We believe in continuous improvement and will work with our leaders to be better moving forward. We are always open for feedback and appreciate hearing from our employees and former employees. Feel free to reach out to the Synack People Team if you want to share more direct feedback.

Pros

Pay was good and unlimited PTO

Cons

In my experience, there were consistent challenges related to leadership communication, clarity of vision, and transparency in decision making. Changes were often made with limited context provided to employees, which made it difficult to feel aligned with the direction of the organization. Decisions affecting teams appeared unclear or not well explained, contributing to uncertainty and reduced confidence in leadership.

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. We genuinely value hearing from current and former team members - it helps us grow as an organization. Transparency, clear communication, and making employees feel informed and valued are areas we take seriously. We've made meaningful investments here, including more structured all-hands updates and dedicated channels for recognizing team contributions, but we know there is always more work to do. We recognize that changes without sufficient context can create uncertainty, and that's not the environment we want to build. Feedback like this helps us stay accountable to that standard. Our door is open, and we hope anyone with specific experiences or suggestions will feel encouraged to share them directly with leadership or through our internal feedback channels. We appreciate you sharing your perspective and wish you well.
