Pros

Generous time off. Hard to get fired.

Cons

Hard to get fired, thus retaining awful, entitled employees. Lack of staff. Mean staff. Unprofessional work environment. The state is cheap, meaning cheap products for the patients. The salary does not even BEGIN to compete with private hospitals. The insurance is so-so. They make up their own rules per facility and don't follow the policies implemented in Nashville. They hire their family members which can pose potential conflicts.

Pros

I have nothing positive to save about my experience with the state. Other than they taught me what not to do!

Cons

I advise you to stay away from state jobs. They will fire you for no reason and nit even disclose why. There is no training, when you are hired they will literally make you drive to Nashville for a 5 min meeting with HR, who has no clue what is going on. You are left to figure everything out and no one knows what is going on. If the State was a business they would have gone out of business a long time ago because of mismanagement. Absolutely the worse job I have ever had. Save your self the trouble and don’t apply
