Pros

Great company to work for with company culture highly valued. Never do layoffs. Very open to feedback through “discuss the undiscussables”. Lots of opportunity for growth and they try to promote from within

Cons

Your experience will largely depend on your manager. Wine/spirits pay more competitively

Pros

Boston Beer is a good company - it seems like they truly care about their employees. They put a ton of effort into the interview process and onboarding, and seems like they want to invest in people.

Cons

Unfortunately, you can only work in sales if you don't live in Boston. They don't hire fully remote employees. The BR position seems great for young people who are fresh out of college and haven't worked in an office yet. Otherwise, you will feel waaay to old to work a job where you have to drink a ton, work nights and weekends, etc. It's a tough job for women as well. You will work with mostly men (depending on your wholesaler) who are older and do not respect you being in the beer business. They will literally ignore you until you earn your "flowers" aka going to resets at 6am, drinking with them, doing after hours events. Unfortunately, you will also feel untrained even after months of working in the field. They just kind of throw you into it. Really would not recommend unless you know you love field work/field sales.
