Pros
Rare CPG company in the Bay Area, and the East Bay no less. Great opportunity to work for an established public company close in a beautiful area with housing that is relatively more affordable than other parts of the Bay Area. Lots of long-term employees, and a real path to leadership for those who want it.
Cons
Clorox has a long history of being a great place to work. Recently, however, the company has hoped to drive financial performance through a more aggressive approach with employees. "Work-life balance" has become a taboo phrase, replaced with the ethos of "row harder." While this may drive short term results, it also results in high levels of turn-over. I'd like to see the company find a better balance here. Workloads are currently overwhelming, particularly for high performers. To keep people in a world where there are tech companies around every corner, we need to to remain that great place to work that people yearn for and are willing to take the CPG pay-cut for.
