Pros
Clorox has great opportunities for people. High turnover creates lots of openings. High value for DEI creates lots of opportunity for diversity candidates and consequently massive headwinds for white straight men.
Cons
Clorox is the ultimate corporate swamp. It has its own language. It’s own speed. Its own cultural smell. The company is not interested in making money or taking care of its employees. It certainly isn’t interested in values beyond DEI. Leaders manage up well. Narcissism is valued and promoted. Over the past 4 years all our virtuous leaders have been run off. Our Sr Directors, VP’s, and C suite spend all their time fighting amongst each other and blaming each other for their collective failures. The company can’t execute a project. Not a major launch, a new plant implementation, and now we’re watching the titanic sink during a major ERP implementation. The COO will blame everyone but himself. The VP’s will blame everyone but themselves. Time to look in the mirror. Leaders need to stop playing “game of thrones” and start caring and leading people. When did we make it ok for leaders to stop actually leading people well? All of my peers are looking externally. Everyone wants off this sinking ship.
