Pros
-Free lunch for each shift worked -Many available hours -Thorough store-opening paid training
Cons
I worked at The Melt in Cupertino before the store ever opened. We went through a whole week of training and soft-opening where we would give customers free food and coupons. There was always a disconnect between corporate and store workers; you could just tell they saw us as their underlings and it was very discouraging. Working at The Melt was basically hellish during lunch hours because while ticket times were said to be under 5 minutes, we were reaching times up to 20+ minutes. Customers and workers alike were not happy. Management had to constantly call in employees on their days off. One big thing that irked me was when management promoted a nineteen year old to shift manager. Their judgement was definitely skewed when they did this because it did not go over so well with older employees. This shift manager was immature and chosen because of favoritism. Eventually that employee left because of sexual harassment allegations between that shift manager and the store manager.
