Pros

Our pay is good for what we do. I feel supported by Walden. The managerial folks that I have met (including during Phase 2 training) seem to be geared toward making the job easier for the employees and seem supportive of the employees.

Cons

Health Benefits... if Walden wants to attract employee who have not yet reached Medicare, they need to provide more affordable health insurance. I am fortunate to be able to obtain insurance via my retirement and that is expensive, but not nearly as expensive as through Walden. Stipend for parking/gas... downtown Denver is not really close to most places that CSO's live. Affordable parking is in unsafe areas and a good walk from the courthouses. The drive for many of us is long and through very busy downtown traffic and the interstate. I know that it has been a deciding factor for two CSO's who left for other jobs that were closer to their homes and had free parking.

Pros

The work schedule is amazing, takes a few months to get up there, but it works for a lot of us. Having weekends off and time with family is very important to me. The pay and every year raise is awesome! It’s a dangerous job and knowing we’re paid enough is everything we need.

Cons

For Seattle, Training and management.

Pros

Monday through Friday schedule is really nice. No shift work is much easier on home life and body. No night shift for me is a blessing. Major holidays off allows more family time.

Cons

As a share time employee it would be nice to have schedules sooner then Friday afternoon proceeding the next workweek. Not having any seniority for available work days is not a plus. Someone with 5 years gets the same number of work days as someone with 1 year. Union contract has nothing identifying the share timers position or rights. Even though I’m paying union dues. Full time employees hold position to 70 plus. No opportunity for advancement.
