Unique opportunity to work in exciting & interesting industry based out of NYC (yet living in smaller Louisville, KY) with multi-million dollar projects assigned to individual accountants. Good location. Decent insurance benefits.
Cons
Terrible work environment. Very quiet with socialization scolded. Time off is not flexible & is only available to use in full or half days (not hourly and you'll never be able to leave even a minute early without good reason and discussion with manager) All salaried employees required to clock in & out each day and will be scolded if even more than 5 minutes late (hope you didn't hit traffic today - otherwise again, a discussion with manager is required) Management treats staff like workers just needed to get the work done, with no care for employees or their personal well being. Not a team of family oriented environment. Even managers will ignore most employees at the very rare office outings. Long hours expected even when no need. Management is quick to scold even simple & small human errors (because they expect none) with no positive feedback or appreciation for good employees. It makes for a very negative, stressful, and awkward environment. Expected to monitor the staff in New York's compliance with deadlines for reports you consistently need & the accountants will get in trouble if others' deadlines aren't met. Low pay. Management has major favoritism, so any positive reviews likely came from the select few of a small group of well treated, "teacher's pet" employees. Avoid unless you're desperate.
