Toxic Work Culture - Misleading Reviews

Pros

There are some genuinely great people that work here outside of management. Lots of bright, motivated, goofy individuals.

Cons

I don't usually like to leave feedback regarding former employment, but these reviews are highly misleading (possibly fake) and don't represent the opinions of a large number of employees during my time at Feedonomics. The pay is low and management treats employees like they are children. The workflow is very poorly managed and if you're a data analyst, no real skill set will be developed. I genuinely dreaded going into work every day. There are far better employment opportunities in Los Angeles.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We take all feedback very seriously and are surprised we haven't heard it in person as we strive to have open communication channels with the whole team. Feedonomics is growing quickly and is a very fast-paced environment. We recognize that it is not for everybody. We do strive, however, to create an environment that is open, with easy access to our leadership, and the ability for employees to get experience and advancement very quickly. We would have hoped that you would have brought your concerns to us while you were with us so that we could have addressed them. We are always looking for feedback from our associates and continuing to strive to create better processes. It sounds like Feedonomics was not the right fit for you, and hope you found the opportunity you were looking for.

Pros

There are some really nice and talented people that work here, which makes for a great community of people to hang out with during lunch & off work hours.

Cons

I don't feel that employees in the feed dept are treated that well in this company. The pay isn't great and management's kind of hot tempered and passive aggressive with their interactions with employees. I've seen them make a fuss over very insignificant things and scold employees like they are children. We're not paid enough for this. The work is a bit mundane and from what I've observed there doesn't seem to be any great opportunities for career growth. The job is also very specific and I don't see myself transferring these skills over to my next job.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We take any feedback very seriously. In fact, we strive to provide open communication channels with everyone at Feedonomics, so we're a little surprised that this is the first time we're hearing about this. This is something that if true is absolutely not okay - please bring it to the attention of myself (Brian, your co-founder). If you'd prefer to send this feedback anonymously (i.e. our anonymous feedback form), we would still like the full context. We created an environment of openness and transparency, including scheduled lunches with the company owners to discuss any issues including professional development and providing feedback. Our goal is that Feedonomics can be the best place you've ever worked - with tons of opportunities for education and growth. Our analysts have moved to sales, account management, enterprise account management, and even software engineering. We like to understand which paths employees are interested in and place them where they can best achieve their career objectives. I recommend speaking with me if there is a particular path that interests you, or if you are interested in completely changing careers, we are more than happy to help you find a new job.

A heartfelt disappointment from a dark horse company

Pros

1. Ability to offer some learning opportunity for someone like me who has less experience 2. Focus on instilling the family culture , which is unfortunately not effective anymore 3. A team of visionary old guards (aka founders and CEO) 4. Work from home 5. Talented pool of hard working, new and old, employees

Cons

Being associated with the fastest growing department that handles big and profitable accounts, it pains to spell out the cons. Here you go: 1. The most defining aspect of Feedonomics, family culture, has started losing its sheen lately, which vexes me to my core. 2. A cluster of new senior and middle management brought echo-chamberish perspective and no relatable/portable experience, along with animosity, and self-benefiting agenda. The new middle management seems to credit hack our ideas or the success of our work, silent our concerning voice, demean our opinion, put us through more work with what appears to be a false promise, and cold heartedly unavailable for any support. 3. It is my growing concern that my department has become a revolving door to talents who were looking for a great place to work. I lost many great, dedicated colleagues. All the glowing positive reviews in last few months, in my opinion, are not the true reflection of the current state of the company. 4. In all fairness, the top level senior management did take some actions such as holding exit interviews and installing people empowerment manager to garner grassroot level feedbacks. But with all due respect, the exit interview is too little too late, and institutionalizing empowerment role is only useful if employees can share feedback without fear of retaliation. 5. Back scratching, favoritism, and cronyism are growing unchecked, seemingly under the tutelage of new senior and middle management. It is stifling creativity, openness, and camaraderie.

With an absolute dedication to creating a culture of transparency and openness, we are saddened to see that your experience with us was not favorable for you. Feedonomics is by no means perfect but we have made a substantial investment in ensuring that all of our people are heard and have a voice to help us continuously improve. In a recent anonymous pulse survey responded to by over 96% of our teams, we received an industry leading rating across the board with some great suggestions and feedback as to where we can continue to improve. All of this feedback from the survey was shared openly with all of the Company and action plans have been developed to ensure we continue to improve every day. As you mentioned, we have a dedicated People Empowerment Manager whose sole role is to ensure that ALL of our people are being heard and to create a forum for them to provide management with ongoing feedback. Since the inception of this hire, we have implemented 360 review surveys for grass roots staff to rate and provide suggestions for improvement to their supervisors and managers. Your review was very detailed, however it seems like a one star rating didn't really align with some of the other comments you made. “Don't get me wrong. It is still a great place to work”. That is what we are dedicated to ensuring every day. With that being said, we do take the feedback seriously and will continue holding ourselves to the highest possible standards. That is why our CEO continues to meet with every single person in the company. With an employee retention rate of over 95%, we are still fortunate to be keeping our most valuable asset, our people. We continue to encourage an open door policy, and we are continuously asking our people how we are doing and how we can do better. When our people are looking for new challenges we always attempt to find opportunities in other areas of the company.
