Pros

I had to put 5 words

Cons

Ferrara is trying to operate as a real CPG company, but has Investment Bankers in the highest levels of the company. You cannot operate with a private equity mentality with inadequate leadership. All of the private equity team is still in place and the company is declining. Unless you are 30 years old, male, and graduated from Notre Dame, you do not need to apply. The high school culture is built on this high ranking group of individuals and their arrogance, and fear to stand up to them. There is no training, no support, no trust, it is very negative, lack of feedback, and you are over worked. All of this has been shared to the highest levels and with HR and nothing has been done. There is also no succession plan, they do not have a 3-5 year outlook to help you succeed and progress your career. There is a lot of turnover because of all of this. But they do not seem to care. There is a limited recruiting process and nothing is transparent. Most roles are not posted and the Notre Dame group hand selects their friends for each role. Ferrara continues to decline rapidly. To the top talent, please stay away.

Pros

Great iconic brands Decent marketing budgets WFH 1-2 days and week They promote (some) faster compared to other CPG brands Formerly attracted great talent from large CPG brands

Cons

Ferrero ownership adds nuances and complexities Poor management of COVID - said one thing in theory “we provide flexibility, especially for working parents” but didn't follow through. Daily 9-10 hour on video zoom calls, back to back meetings requiring work assignments to be done afterwards leading to 12-14 hour days Unclear direction and constantly shifting priorities Gaslighting by mid level leadership Favoritism Lots of turn over Excessive churn and organization redesign every 6 months Lack process and clear ownership across cross functional teams Bullying and toxic behavior is tolerated with HR not empowered to enforce necessary change

Ferrara Candy Company Response

We appreciate you sharing this feedback. Culture is a priority for our organization, and we are constantly looking for new ways to improve our team members' experiences. Last year, we launched a fifth company value, Empathy, to emphasize the importance of understanding one another, building meaningful connections, listening and fostering inclusion. As part of our organization’s entrepreneurial spirit, our employees know that innovation is a staple of how we operate. We encourage all team members to be agile, take ownership and collaborate as part of our global agenda, but not to sacrifice consideration, understanding and kindness.

Pros

Free candy and a cool office

Cons

I’ll let this speak for itself. The “featured” review that gives Ferrara five stars for being great was an analyst who only lasted 2 months before leaving due to the poor conditions of this workplace and lack of care and support. Yep, this is correct.
