Horrible experience but apparently now they're cleaning house.
Pros
It's not as dysfunctional as the current White house. And they did just fire a long time manager that was likely the biggest soul sucker of a human being in the company. Anyone reading this who works there knows exactly who I'm referring to. Basically, join this company if you're interested to pursue a further career in finance tech elsewhere, where you'll deal with the same behavior but at least get paid handsomely for it.
Cons
Too many to list. But the biggest is no respect for employee growth. and no adequate training or learning environment (partially because the technology is legacy) Just as bad is there is absolutely zero communication between group members (of course this is because team leads just stare into a computer and type for 8 hours straight) Made to feel stupid if you ask questions, usually through passive aggressive comments made by Brits that have watched too much Monty Python. After my own leaving, there was a mass exodus of employees akin to rats leaving a sinking ship. I heard through friends that management made some paltry effort to "learn why this was happening" by polling the employees still there and asking what could be improved on. Of course these employees all had families and financial responsibilities, therefore couldn't be honest with how they truly felt. Also, unless you're white and hail in part from the UK, you have zero chance in management.
