Pros

Worked with some very smart IP attorneys, was very involved in the prosecution of patents. Nice events, and food. Decent benefits (however, low pay compared to similar jobs).

Cons

Management Lacks appropriate leadership staff to effectively train, support, and retain legal support staff. Training for the favored and inconsistent. Too focused on the billable hourd instead of understanding of concepts and quality of work product. Management micromanages basic tasks like starting and ending a shift, requesting time off, lunch breaks, yet expects self direction when faced with more complex issues, creating stressful situations with no real support. It is not uncommon to work overtime to complete projects.

Pros

Smart people, nice office in a good location, fun monthly happy hours, free bagels on Friday, access to gym

Cons

Didn't working there a full year and needed to use maternity leave, didn't get paid for it, but if I was a lawyer at the firm I would have. They treat lawyers different than the "support staff" in almost every possible way. They are not flexible at all and I would advise working mothers to stay away. They boast about how great there maternity leave is, but it only applies to the legal staff.

Pros

There were good benefits. There are some nice people that work hard. They had bagels and pizza office lunch every month. it was a great location downtown and you do get an hour lunch. There are a variety of clients you will get to work with both big and small.

Cons

There is a very demanding and heavy workload. They expect perfection and NOTHING LESS! You are Micro managed for small things like breaks, lunch and punching in and out. I felt like there was favoritism going on and if they don't like you they don't like you. Another review prior to mine had it right. Being micromanaged for small things such as breaks, lunch, and time off belittles employees. You will feel like you don't have a life outside of the job because there is a lot of overtime. Avoid the burnout you will get... everyone no matter what level does get burnout.
