Pros

- People and individual team culture is great. - Good work/life balance. - A wealth of knowledge that we have access to in our research.

Cons

- Terrible, below market compensation. - Ever since former CPO, Sherri left it seems empathy and humanity left with her. Executive team makes decisions based on George's personal MO without considering how it'll affect the "little" people. - Required 2 days/week in office policy implemented after George soaked up the positive attention from The Boston Globe article promoting "anywhere work." - No data or research to back up the return to office mandate. Saying that employees contribute "energy" to the office is a really funny and ironic reason. Especially for a research organization. - Executive team has completely lost touch. After laying off 80 people, some executives joined the next company meeting mentioning their second/ third vacation homes when most employees don't make enough money to afford ONE home. Get a clue. - After changing our PTO policy, pausing promotions, merit increases, and laying off 80 people, HR announced free access to Headspace--a meditation resource. Is this a prank? It feels like a prank. Where is Ashton Kutcher hiding? - The company does not invest enough into sales enablement, constantly changes product offering and access and simultaneously puts the blame on sales for our 2% decline in annual revenue. - Predatory policy against anonymous questions posted in company meetings. Many of the people who were vocal about concerns were laid off. Coincidence? I think not. - HUGE lack of diversity on the executive team and company as a whole. They try to make up for this by hosting DEI events but it is very clear that the company actually doesn't care about DEI. This is made evident by the lack of thought to accessibility and socioeconomic concerns with the return to office policy.

Pros

The hard thing here is that although the executives are abysmal and driving this business into oblivion, the good news is you get to watch your career crumble next to the most wonderful colleagues. Until they leave, which is happening as quickly as possible. Good work life balance except when you’re awake all night long worrying you’re part of the next round of layoffs, worrying about getting a living wage, or being exploited for your labor.

Cons

The work at Forrester is wonderful, interesting clients, compelling research. However, the top heavy nature of the company disallows for upward mobility, the poor performance driven by insane decisions by executives means that you’ll never get a raise or promotion. The name brand of Forrester in your resume doesn’t mean anything anymore in the market. Do yourself a favor, if you’re applying here, just skip it.

Pros

The only thing Forrester is consistently successful at doing is hiring very capable and very decent people who will do what they can to support you. If it were not for the people, it would be hard to justify not just quitting without a backup plan.

Cons

Is it the worst place out there - no. But it's certainly not the best and I have a hard time recommending anyone to join the company, especially this year. The leadership team can't seem to rein in the CEO who's clearly having a meltdown. Return to office policies don't follow our own guidance to clients, nor are they based on any data that suggests office work will enable our employees. There are some positive reviews on here that indicate the new policy doesn't bother them and they still believe in the company but I would venture to guess that those employees have reached a certain level of seniority and salary that helps them justify their commitment. However, a policy like this is going to have a disproportionate affect on junior employees, people of color, women, and people who are neurodivergent. It's a shame because there really is a lot of potential here but like Forresterites will always say... we just can't seem to get out of our own way. The culture is becoming increasingly more toxic and everyone is drained.
