Pros

There really aren't any pros.

Cons

Foss Swim School values profits over people at every opportunity. They don't care about staff.  They don't care about customers.  They don't care about kids.  They have no values at all except making money. They are a racist, sexist, transphobic, unsafe, unethical, abusive organization and they repeatedly make decisions to uphold that b.s. Many employees have brought concerns to management and have been told “if you don’t like it, you can leave.”  And other employees who have been trying to address concerns were refused promotions or mysteriously let go. In the end, if you’re not working yourself to the bone by providing unpaid labor, saying yes to everything they ask, and making them money, they’re going to find a reason to get rid of you or make your life hell so you’ll quit. For example:  They don’t allow staff to have breaks and tell staff to just pee in the pool.  And that's a mild example.  They also have forced staff (including high-risk staff) to return to work during the pandemic and choose between their health and their job.  There are so many more examples of abuse of pool staff and corporate staff, but it is not safe to share any more specifics for fear of them finding out and retaliating. There are so many more people who have been abused by Foss Swim School and they are afraid to say anything.  And there are also so many staff and former staff who have been forced to sign gag orders so they can't share their experiences.  How unethical can you be?  If you're Foss Swim School, apparently you can be pretty dang unethical.

Pros

It's a fun job but it's a lot of work. You're in a pool for about 6 hours at a time with a 15min break they give you for lunch. If you want to take a sick day, forget it. The management understands the corporate does not care about its employees and tries to make it as pleasant as possible.

Cons

If you want to take a sick day, forget it. They are completely understaffed 24/7 and it's impossible to get your shifts covered. The management understands the corporate does not care about its employees and tries to make it as pleasant as possible. Be warned, this is a very demanding job and most of the job advertisements give it false pretenses. It's not an easy $20 an hour, fun in the water job. You have standards you have to meet every quarter and patient satisfaction is always a priority
