Franklin Energy was a very small business started 25+ years ago. The founder is a great guy, who clearly is passionate about the environment (he is no longer involved in the day-to-day operations). Roughly 10 years ago, Franklin was a team of less than 50 employees. At this time, they were bought by a PE firm, who invested a lot of money so they could grow quickly. As they grew (very, very quickly), they promoted from within, instead of hiring executives and senior management from the outside. The problem with this is the company is now run by executives and senior management who have no experience managing / leading, other than their experience at Franklin (which isn't much). The woman who heads up Operations for the entire company (leading 800+ employees) was changing light bulbs in consumers homes 8 years ago; she was hired in as a technician. This might not be an issue if she was competent, however, she is incredibly inept (as well as conniving and all-around, a miserable person who has created a toxic, miserable culture designed to keep her inept inner-circle in place, as to protect her position). Franklin's issues are compounded by their inability to achieve a basic level of mediocrity. The advice I would give anyone considering a job here is to run, in the opposite direction, as fast as you can. No one is happy here and their turnover rate is insanely high.
