Pros

The company was very generous in providing high-quality equipment and a solid budget for home office setup, which made remote work comfortable and efficient. Good work was genuinely valued and often celebrated, which helped foster motivation and a sense of pride among the team. I also had the opportunity to work with skilled and dedicated people who tried to make the best out of a difficult situation. Work / life balance is great and there's no micromanagement.

Cons

I worked at this company for 1.5 year, and during that time, I witnessed frequent organizational changes, unclear strategies, and a general lack of transparency from upper management. There were several rounds of layoffs, often without clear communication or rationale, which created a tense and insecure work environment. Many talented colleagues left or were let go, and morale suffered greatly as a result. Leadership frequently changed course without involving or informing the team, which led to confusion and wasted effort. A major turning point was the company's growing obsession with AI features. Instead of solving core product problems or listening to customer needs, leadership redirected most efforts and resources toward trendy AI initiatives, even when they had little practical value. This only worsened the sense of instability and disconnect. Despite the potential the company had, the lack of a clear vision and consistent strategy made it difficult to feel confident about the future.

Pros

Working at Grin in the beginning was amazing. Great work environment, smart people, big ambitions, awesome off-site. Everything seemed great.

Cons

After the 1st layoff, everything went downhill. Lack of clarity on money, pivot after pivot on engineering projects, reorgs, process realignment, waking up and seeing yet another layoff or round of cuts disguised as a reorg.

Pros

-It's a remote first company

Cons

-About 50% of my projects were built to MVP and abandoned. -The manager I reported to changed 6 times. -4 layoffs so far. -Product decisions were a buzzword salad, no actual focus on improving the core product All in all, It started as an amazing place to work that quickly nose dived into chaos. I have a hard time believing GRIN will come back from this latest layoff. If it were me? I would look elsewhere.
