      Great first job, but don’t stay

      Pros

      There are some really smart people that work here. Along with some smart people there are some really great people to work with and a lot to learn from. The on-site gym is nice and covered parking is great. Management tries hard and it’s visible the effort they put forward. If you get a job and you like it there, your position is reliably stable.

      Cons

      Even though there are some smart people who are great to work with, there’s enough others that make it really difficult to achieve progress. Management knows there are issues with the company but their solution is to create protocols to follow and then sometimes as soon as the next day, the new protocols don’t matter because management has one reason after another not to follow them anymore and it’s a very circular pattern with progress where you find yourself in the same situation over and over again. This company has great potential which alludes to the idea that if you stick around things will get better but all the issues this company has are slivers never get resolved. The director of development will change your title and responsibilities on a regular basis but will not give you a raise. There was also a time where the company gave source code to another company.

      Lack of vision

      Pros

      Great health insurance, relaxed dress code, free snacks provided daily.

      Cons

      Overworked, underpaid, lack of shared vision, too much micromanagement, undefined career path, little to no employee development, undefined responsibilities, bosses rather than leaders.

      Little progress for years

      Pros

      - good technology and projects - lots of potential to have good products - good people in management (as in they care, they are nice, and are trying, but it's not going so well) - good lower level manager - 6% 401k match, immediate vesting - flexible schedule - can do what i want for my job

      Cons

      - products go almost nowhere for years - poorly handled legal crisis that crippled the company in 2019-2020 - culture is missing, diversity is very low - CEO is almost always non-interactive with company. Uninspiring and distant. Lower leaders are better
