Pros

If you are lucky, you will be assigned to a project for a big client.

Cons

I worked at Globant for 9 years and always got great feedback from both clients and managers. On almost every project, clients were so happy with my work that they’d bring in more Globers to the team because of my performance. But things went downhill. Globant is now all about assigning the cheapest developers from around the world, so there’s no room for senior developers with solid experience in the US. They also came up with this rule: if you don’t find a project in 59 days, you’re fired with zero compensation. That’s what happened to me, no interviews, no help, tools for finding projects that would barely work. They canceled my green card process which I have been waiting for 3 years. When my H-1B grace period was about to end, they promised a flight home if I didn’t get a new job. But when I asked for it, they just said they couldn’t buy it in time; even though I gave them almost a week’s notice. After 9 years of hard work, I got nothing in return. No compensation, no respect. Globant used to be great, but now it’s just another company that doesn’t value its people.

It is unfortunate to know that your experience was not the most pleasant and that your concept of us was left with more flaws than strengths. We hope you remember us with great learnings and we want to tell you that we take into account your feedback to improve for future Globers. #💚

Pros

100% health benefits, PTO is 15 days for developers/designers and 20 days for project managers and above. Base pay isn't bad at all for most roles.

Cons

401k is awful, 1% match but only until you work there a year, project managers must handle P&L and forecasting, internal system is called GLOW and it is terrible, "talent pool policy" -- if you come off a project and don't get assigned to a new one, you go into talent pool. After 60 days in talent pool you lose your salary. 15 days after that, you're terminated. Globant doesn't highlight this when interviewing candidates (to my understanding). Most of the work is staff augmentation, this means you likely won't be working on a team with other Globant employees with an architect, front end devs, back end devs, designers, BAs, etc. Instead, you might just be working as a contractor on a client account, in some cases in the clients office (obviously not as much now due to covid). Developers don't get bonuses, only project managers and above. Leadership in Globant is predominantly male. Bottom line is Globant will always put profits above people unfortunately.

Flexibility: The company remains committed to flexible work arrangements, allowing employees to work from anywhere. This has been particularly beneficial for maintaining work-life balance. Results-Oriented: The focus on goal-oriented results rather than strict clock-in and clock-out times provides employees with the freedom to manage their own schedules and be more productive on their own terms. Autonomy: Employees enjoy the freedom to decide how to use their potential. This autonomy fosters creativity and innovation, allowing individuals to leverage their unique skills and strengths effectively.

Cons

Talent: There has been a noticeable decline in talent retention and development. Many skilled employees are leaving, and there are limited opportunities for professional growth.Opportunities: The company is struggling to identify and capitalize on new market opportunities. There seems to be a lack of innovation and adaptability to changing market demands.Clear Road Map: The company's strategic direction is unclear. Employees are often confused about the company's goals and their individual roles in achieving them.Motivation: Employee morale is low, and there is a significant lack of motivation. Achievements are seldom recognized, and there is little to no engagement from management.Core Values and Benefits: The core values of the company are not consistently reflected in daily operations. Additionally, the benefits package is starting to deteriorate
