Pros

Work from home environment is a great benefit. You should keep in mind that not everyone is cut out to work remotely. Some individuals may have a difficult time adjusting to a remote environment.

Cons

Major growing pains. They over-hired, made poor business decisions, and are now having a massive layoff. All handled very poorly. Management constantly pushes employees to only provide *positive* reviews on social media in order to achieve “best places to work” accolades. So very dishonest! I am lucky to still have a job here, but have lost all faith in this company and do not feel confident about having a position in 2018. Stay away from Goodway Group, it’s a huge risk!

Thank you for taking the time to write your review and sharing your feedback. We did make the tough decision to have a reduction in force but it is based on right sizing for our clients come 2018. I'm not sure where the idea that management is constantly pushing employees to provide only positive reviews comes from. We are proud of our culture and hope that others will share that on Glassdoor but through our internal programs like SuggestionOx, First Break All The Rules survey and other methods, we continuously ask for all forms of feedback - and address and act on them accordingly. Glassdoor is no different. We are going through a challenging transition as we make our way through the reduction in force, but I hope your faith in the company is renewed once we get into 2018.

Pros

Met some wonderful, smart and fun coworkers who I cherish.

Cons

Buying into a culture that is ultimately a lie. Day one you are "family" we are all "family". "We only hire the best and brightest!" So they build you up to knock you down. Only 100% positive reviews and full raises yet no reasoning for being let go. From the very beginning of 2017 we were told never to worry, there was even a whole call on not worrying. Then the bottom falls out and they give no rhyme or reason to who they are selecting to be let go. Strangely the company is still going to proceed with their annual trip to Las Vegas as it is the "culture". They are sending over 70 people into 2017 with a "best wishes" but are going to spend easily over $2M on this one trip. No efforts were made to curve the layoffs/RIF. No management rolls were eliminated in the RIF.

Thank you for taking the time to voice your opinion and write this review. Recently Goodway made the very difficult decision to reduce our workforce as we head into 2018. This workforce included both individual contributors and supervisory level employees. While it was not an easy decision, it was one that we felt was necessary in order to best position ourselves in the coming year. Another part of ensuring our success is coming together at our semi-annual company meeting. We decided to continue with this meeting to help our new account teams meet in person and help re-engage our staff staying with us as we enter the new year. These trips have budgets less than half the amount listed in the review. Unfortunately, we know this has been very emotional for those impacted and Goodway has provided at no cost to the employees: 6 months of career coaching and outplacement services through CareerArc, free membership to FlexJobs and a career connections LinkedIn group updated regularly with open positions, all with the hope of finding each impacted employee new employment by the end of the year. While we have a strong family culture here, ultimately the decision had to be made to ensure the continued success of the business. It is because of our family values that we are making such an effort to provide time and resources to those impacted.

Pros

David Wolk is an amazing human being, unfortunately, he's not calling the day to day shots anymore. Compensation is fair, working from home is good.

Cons

Management is awful at best, sociopathic at worst. You'll see a lot of reviews here how change happens often and that people have trouble adjusting. Change is good, change for the sake of change is not, and that's what happens here on an almost daily basis. What you were hired for is not necessarily what you will end up doing, and you won't be trained or supported in these new roles, in fact, you'll be penalized for not doing a job well for a job you weren't hired to do. If you like to work at a place where your ability and skills won't be constantly judged and doubted from the very top levels of management down to your immediate manager, stay far away from here. This place seems great when you get here, and then things inevitably take a turn for the worse. Management constantly brings pressure from the top down, unreasonable expectations, enforced "community", being forced to work more than reasonably possible, an environment where you can't trust everyone and you WILL be backstabbed. In the time I worked there, I saw a lot of strong people whose lives were emotionally crushed by this place. I saw people who were amazing at what they do get shut down because of those who somehow became managers when they had no business being one and felt they knew a lot more than the highly skilled people who worked for them. Now this is just one person's opinion, but be warned that only a very specific type of person can succeed here, and odds are, it's probably not you.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I'm sorry you did not feel your time with Goodway was a good one. We are going through a large organizational change right now which can be difficult to work through, understandably. This year we created a new Manager Development position specifically to support our management team better support their teams as we move into our new structure. I wish you the very best in your next endeavor!
