Worst Company to Work For

Pros

Benefits Package, and maybe your coworkers really depends on your location

Cons

Did you peek in high school? Do you love the idea of creating your own clique inside a large company? Are you someone who loves a new challenge with minimal training? Then Greystar is the perfect employer for you!! This is one big multimillion-dollar company that can not bother to afford an actual training department, they lowball all employees they can take advantage of, you are expected to work long hours but you will be yelled at if you have overtime. They use multiple systems that are sometimes just as useless as the old people they have sitting in the CEO's chair. It is a joke of a company, your RPMs can not be bothered to help, support, or train you. Everyone here is overworked an underpaid. I would NEVER recommend anyone to work, street clear of Greystar all the horrible rumors are true. This is a terrible company to start with or work for today. everyone in corporate is soooooo out of touch with reality and what happens on-site they literally sound so dumb when they come visit 1 a year. Don't work here.

Pros

having benefits is always a pro.

Cons

everyone who said you have to be in a clique to advance is correct!!! working weekends sucks and noone cares. write ups for things that is everyone's fault. regionals are heartless. slight undercurrent of racism. they shift you around from place-to-place without a care. managers gossip about employees instead of leading and helping them. some days you wish for a family member to die so you can get away from them for a few days. trainings are inept. too bad they don't care about their people. they will always find a way to make it your fault. some of the most rude, nasty, entitled managers and residents i have ever seen. if you do not pass the secret shopping they will target you until they can fire you. all they care about is numbers. you might need anti-depressants to make it through the day. their values and pillars are smoke and mirrors. i gave it 5 stars so it would not be hidden in the feed. they will always make money because corruption is as corruption does. they spend a lot of time competeing with better companies and waiting for their leftovers. many days you will drive home crying trying not to hurt yourself or others.

TERRIBLE - STEER CLEAR

Pros

They have pretty good benefits.

Cons

I can confidently say that working at Greystar was one of the worst professional experiences of my life. The management, both mid-level and upper, exhibited a complete lack of care and regard for the well-being of their employees. It seemed as though bringing up any issue fell on deaf ears, with no meaningful action or resolution ever taken. One of the most glaring issues within the company was the promotion of individuals who were unprofessional harassers with zero integrity. Instead of fostering a positive work environment, they created an atmosphere of fear and harassment. The treatment of employees by these promoted individuals was nothing short of appalling. My community manager seemed to thrive on belittling and demeaning subordinates, creating a hostile and demoralizing workplace. This behavior was not only tolerated but seemingly encouraged by higher-ups who turned a blind eye to the toxic culture that permeated throughout my property. It was an extremely disheartening experience that I wouldn't wish upon anyone. If you value your mental and emotional well-being, I strongly advise steering clear of this company.
