Pros

My coworkers were great! I’ve worked at a few Health Images locations and my sonography coworkers have been pleasant.

Cons

The pay scale is outdated. They supposedly pay you based off of experience, but miss paying you on your skills. You could be registered in multiple things and utilize every single registry, but not get compensated for it. If you know how to do multiple exams, you will get taken advantage of, so just say you don’t know how to do certain things. You’re better off. You will be doing OBs all trimesters, vascular, peds, small parts, hernias, pelvics, thyroids, breast, abdomens all in a short amount of time. No breaks. Your arm will hurt. Your body will hurt. No one will care. No one will listen to you. You are just a warm body and smiling face running the machine and waving your magic wand around. They are severely lacking in communication, protocols and processes. It’s an absolute nightmare. The technologists are always figuring things out for themselves. There is no direction. It’s a dumpster fire. DO NOT WORK AT AN ED SITE ASSOCIATED WITH HEALTH IMAGES. You will be exploited, abused and no one will care about your mental or physical health. You get no breaks. No recognition for keeping up with all the exams. Nothing. The machines are outdated and not ergonomically friendly. They still expect you to perform exams on these crap machines. The managers are terrible at the sites I worked at. One didn’t even know who I was and I’m sure the new one didn’t either. They are so out of touch and heartless. There is high turnover. HIGH. Nothing ever changes. Overall, Health Images does not appreciate quality techs. They don’t value the skills you have to offer. You will be undervalued and given a $5 Starbucks gift card for doing a good job. They are clueless as to how anything is supposed to run. There is no one for a sonographer to report to. No knowledgeable radiologist on site or anywhere.

Pros

Remote work with no plan to return to offices. Extra hours offered if you need them.

Cons

They only care about reports and stats. Employees get upset when calls run long because they'll have lower stats for the day. It puts unnecessary stress on the employee and doesn't prioritize the patient. They don't care if your putting important notes or reaching out for help, if your wrap up time is longer than 30 seconds they are on you for it without carring why. They say they consider 30 hours full time but you can't ever find a position for 30 hours only 40. There is no joy of a team no time to get to know coworkers and build friendships and they wondered why our holiday zoom party was so awkward. Leadership is overly critical. The company pretends to care about employees but doesn't.
