Pros

While the cons definitely out weigh the pros they do provide a positive atmosphere (while you're at the office). They do provide beneficial sales training and most of the co-workers and managers are nice people. It may be a good job for someone fresh out of high school with no college education or work experience. In some cases you can actually save people money who are ignorant about their options for cable and internet.

Cons

For starters it seems like someone from Horizon manipulated most of these Glassdoor reviews as they all similar and it's very doubtful they received that many 5 star reviews. They have more turnover than an apple pie factory. In the short time I was there people dropped like flies and there were new hires nearly every day. The job is 100% commission from door to door sales. During my second interview I was given a range of what I could expect to make as a corporate trainer ($700-$1,000 per week) however I was surrounded by corporate trainers that had been there for months making next to nothing working 50+ hours on a 6 day work week. I feel they manipulate their employees as they do the customers. Part of the pitch is telling people we offer better promotions on foot which is a complete lie. Anyone can get the same deal or better by going to DirectTV.com or the AT&T store. You're basically a commercial people can't ignore, their policy is someone has to tell you no three times before you can disengage. There are no benefits, no PTO and no car allowance and no base pay. You can work a 9 hour day and make $0. If the weather is bad either get soaked and/ or make $0. They use a lot of psychology making you think you can own your own branch one day and require a suit and tie for 3 hours in the office just to change into shorts and flip flops. While some people can succeed at this job really ask yourself "Do I want to knock on peoples door, be a pushy sales person for something they could easily do without your help and risk making no money is you don't close."

Pros

You will meet a lot of great people along the way and gain some sales experience. There are also one or two people who do not fall into the below description.

Cons

First read the reviews for this place it's clearly one person posting over and over again to up the ratings. Next the pay is no where near what they tell you it will be, it is also 100% commission on door to door sales (which they won't tell you). There is a lot of lying to customers and coworkers as well as bending rules i.e. putting other employee sales in one dealer code for bonuses, falsification of apps, using the same persons information for sign ups at various locations. The fun environment quickly exposes itself as a mask for new hires to continue to work and get to leadership. Underneath that mask is a tangled web of anger, inter office relationships, hypocritical speeches, and back stabbing. They will tell you about upward mobility, travel opportunities (on your own dime), and people helping people (lying to people to get their business and probably costing them more money). When you do get sales if the person decides to cancel AT&T will take back the full commission. This is not an 'I got fired, so I'm mad' rant but more of a 'please fully understand what you are getting into' warning.

Pros

The company offers a pretty decent starting salary compared to most other employers. Also, it was not that difficult to obtain a job there especially if you are a recent college graduate.

Cons

Nowhere in the interview process did they tell me it was door to door sales.
