Pros

There is occasionally free food

Cons

The salary is not worth the work load they will pile on top of you. They will give you a job description with day-to-day duties during the interview but once you are hired they begin piling on quality duties, audits, supervisor duties, manufacturing duties. They will require so much extra from you that you will not have time to do what you were actually hired for, which you will then get lectured for and told that you aren't doing your part and supporting the companies goals. And they will expect you to smile and say thank you when they hand you your bottom of the barrel pay rate. Not to mention the management people they choose to hire and promote. They preach no tolerance for harassment or aggression but that only applies if you stand up for yourself after you've been treated like crap by a higher up. And don't bother calling the ethics line, at the most it will only get you transferred.

Pros

The operators and maintenance team were friendly and helpful, creating a positive work environment.

Cons

Unfortunately, my experience was overwhelmingly negative due to the lack of direction, poor management, outdated equipment and programs, and a corporate team that is over a decade behind on technology. When I was hired, I was promised that the company was in the process of modernizing its automation technology. However, I quickly realized that there was no real plan or direction for this initiative. Instead, I was in an empty position created without any real purpose. My supervisor had no automation projects for me to work on, and the corporate automation team shut down any projects that I tried to undertake, demonstrating that they were not interested in modernizing their technology. The equipment was outdated, and the programs were convoluted and poorly designed. The local team lacked the knowledge and resources to manage the current equipment, let alone introduce new technology. I expressed my concerns several times, but management was not supportive, and it was clear that they had no desire to make changes or provide me with the necessary support. When I gave my notice, they terminated me immediately, which was disappointing as they did not allow me to transfer my project documents or updates to anyone.
