Pros

After quickly getting acquainted with the industry's concepts and the company's working methods, I realized that progress plateaued swiftly. Despite the persistent chaos, not many new projects were actually happening. It often felt like much ado about nothing.

Cons

I am genuinely grateful for the opportunity that came with having been laid off from Iterative. I am breathing again. While I was there, my manager's management style tended heavily toward micromanagement. This was evident in her meticulous oversight of details, such as scrutinizing people's calendars. Yet, she failed to provide clear direction, guidelines, or expectations to assist them in their work. Her ambiguous, consistently cheerful yet intrusive involvement often disempowered team members, creating an atmosphere where individuals felt constantly monitored but were unable to escape her iron grip on every aspect of the team. Personally, I frequently experienced feelings of harassment due to this overbearing management style. Additionally, she had a tendency to introduce new processes or tools regularly, only to utilize them once or twice. This approach contributed to an overall sense of chaos within the organization.

Pros

I cannot in good conscience say any good aspects of this company offset the actual experience of working here. They do deserve credit for how much positive PR spin they try to put out.

Cons

This company is not stable. If you read reviews you will see clearly that they do layoffs/firings regularly and these are reactive and not strategic. You will also see this company proudly put forward a face of inclusivity and diversity, but this is very disingenuous. Here you will still find very "boys club" senior male executives happy to make comments about their female colleagues. What is even more disappointing is knowing that there are women executives who when confronted about their counterparts behaviour, would rather not shake the boat and do not confront this toxic culture at all. In speaking with former colleagues, I have also heard numerous first hand accounts of executives presenting work to the board as their own. Some of those people who's work was good enough to go to the board were also people let go by the executive team.

Pros

Iterative Scopes is comprised of a really hard-working, sharp, and friendly team from diverse range of backgrounds. Collaborating to solve problems together in this space is genuinely enjoyable ,and personally/professionally satisfying.

Cons

It's a startup - realistically means some longer work hours, job flexibility, and stepping out of your comfort zone occasionally.
