Pros

- Great discount - Office is centrally located in NYC - Decent hours, although many people come in on the weekends during peak investment periods - Office closes at 1pm on Fridays during the summer (Memorial Day - Labor Day) and Christmas through New Years Eve

Cons

- The overall atmosphere is very immature and the only way to get ahead is to constantly compliment (or gossip with) senior managers on everything they do or wear (I was amazed to find this is true even at the director to senior VP level!). It felt like a high school. - Don't be expected to be judged by only your work, if you're not the right fit personality-wise you won't get ahead and it will take years to get promoted - Almost everyone works through lunch and eats at their desk - Very few minorities or diversity - Information told to HR is not confidential, no matter what they say, and it gets back to senior management... and then eventually the rest of the department (then everyone gossips about it) - Very few people seem happy there, almost every planner has been seen crying at their desk due to treatment/belittlement from others - Very high turnover (obviously people don't stay long) - Decisions are merchant-led and merchants will buy way over budget, which the Planner will then need to fix - The company is unorganized at all levels. Meetings never start on time and are regularly rescheduled. Good thing you came in over the weekend to prepare for it.

Pros

It’s a great name on your resume

Cons

- Breeds a white supremacist culture where white women are constantly being promoted especially in merchandising but bipoc designers/production associates are gaslit and given no voice. - Disorganized - very cliquey, they really hold onto the glory Jenna Lyons days even though that’s what ruined the business. - you will not be promoted unless upper management deems you cool enough - no brand identity, leadership changes constantly so you always have to scramble to redo the line. - no work/life balance - they’re incredible fake when it comes to diversity. They cherry pick POC employees to feature on their page but everyone in leadership is a white woman from cape cod or Nantucket - if you’re black, or brown DO NOT WORK HERE. They will treat you like garbage and make you do 100% of the work If anyone recently listened to the Leandra Medine podcast on The cutting room floor, that will give you an idea of who you’re working for.

Pros

Very chill Remote Work Pay is okay Good discount if you like the clothes

Cons

Huge attrition problem that has never been resolved High ops load given to engineers, leading to burnout Management is nontechnical and has 0 trust in technical talent Awful middle management with 0 accountability Lots of politics, no meritocracy Meeting driven culture that leads to shifting blame instead of advocating change Good work is not rewarded or recognized, and bad work is openly called out, which discourages people from doing anything Culture is terrible for engineers Lots of contractors everywhere Lifers at this company are bottlenecks
