Pros

The residents and their families, and some very great employees.

Cons

I was hired in a new building and they had already been through two marketing people before they even opened. Everyone was let go without reason, immediately before their one year anniversary. Terrible work/life balance. I was expected to be responsive to my phone up to 10 p.m. every night and all through the weekend. I had a very strong ED in my building, but the corporate staff was very odd. They treat the owner like he's the king of senior living. The owners are very insincere and conservative. No jewelry, very strict dress code. Building was not well suited for memory care and it was clear this company didn't understand designing for memory care. They put no effort into providing appropriate medical services before opening their doors. All the favored employees were the same religion as the owner.

Upper management does not care about you and seniors

Pros

Most of care staff and nurses genuinely cared about the residents. Seniors are a delight to work with.

Cons

There is no leadership or accountability in any of the departments. Safety issues that are reported get dismissed and blame shifting happens. The facility is grossly under staffed and the turnover rate is high. Work culture is toxic. Open door policy is absolutely not honored in any way. Employees are used up and exploited until the morale is completely gone and any value or benefits of working for the company becomes feelings of resentment and lacking in feeling appreciated.

All they care about is money

Pros

The pay is ok but not even close to worth working in the conditions that you work in

Cons

Understaffing that management doesn’t even pretend to care about. They bring in more residents telling them what wonderful care they will receive and then the residents realize quickly they are not getting what they pay for. How can you possibly think you are providing excellent care to seniors when you make them wait an hour+ to use the bathroom because there are literally 30 residents per caregiver? I am asked every day by these poor elderly people why they have to wait so long to get any kind of attention and all I can say is MANAGEMENT DOESNT CARE. It’s all about making money with these people and once you’re in the door they could care less. I have mentioned my concerns many times and nothing has ever changed.

Thank you for your years of service, and we appreciate the love and care you provided to our residents. Anonymous reviews are essential, and we welcome the feedback, but the lack of providing a location increases our difficulty in addressing your concerns. It’s never too late to reach out and speak freely or be directed to the home office. Our number one priority is providing care and loving support to our residents. The best of luck in your future positions.
