Pros

Incredible, caring people. Commitment to work/life balance. Generous compensation (for the area). This really was a great company, a blend of "old economy" manufacturing and operational sense with "new economy" innovation and customer-focus. The company is (was) dedicated to making an impact on their employees and their community: "We the employees ARE Lexmark" used to be true.

Cons

It's difficult to overstate how lost this company is right now. The Kofax carpetbagger took ES, ravaged it, and now Lenexa is a ghost town. We're up for sale. Nobody wants to buy us. We have a bloated R&D spend, but they won't cut managers, just employees. Managers still act like nothing is wrong, like "this too shall pass". Not this time

Pros

It was once a great place, with scrappy people and a "satisfy the customer" attitude.

Cons

Geeze. Where to begin? Strategically, the company has no place to go. Print is dying, quickly. Moreover, companies that *are* buying print aren't using consumables like they once did. The Imaging R&D can't justify its budget, so expect cuts every year from now on, if not every quarter. That last flight of super-expensive devices went "thud" in the market, didn't it? You didn't need to develop it in the *FIRST PLACE*, but you needed to justify that R&D budget for another 5 years. The software business is a mess and will be sold-off for pennies on the dollar. The "Phoenix Kofax" will still be run by its megalomanical CEO. That pernicious potentate thinks he's another Steve Jobs, so act accordingly employees. Then there's management. Choose your metaphor: Lifeboat...melting iceberg...sinking ship. Whatever the case, they keep kicking out people who disagreed with them, so the standard cadre of sycophants are left. Hopefully APEX gets that and has cleaned house, but who knows?

Kofax Management team is running the company into the ground

Pros

The pros for this company are the vacation policy and work/life balance, but with the recent changes brought on by the new leadership, even these benefits aren't worth it.

Cons

The new Kofax leadership appear to only care about their products and are not doing proper due diligence on any of the other acquired technologies. The new Kofax leadership appear to only have faith in their own management team members as they haven't placed many (one or two) legacy Perceptive players in management roles.
