Pros
No shortage of test equipment or capital for device re-designs. Extremely compelling technology that clearly provides improvement in patient quality of life
Cons
Starting at the top, the R&D organization is run like a perpetual boot camp. Working overtime is the rule, 60-80 hours per week is pretty typical. Management actually told the R&D organization that no time-off would be approved between October and January because project timelines were sliding. Unlike most companies with failing projects, LivaNova prefers to rearrange the deck chairs rather than acknowledge the iceberg. Middle management fears for their jobs so they roll the orders right down the line no matter how ridiculous the demand is. Forget about personal development or getting training, management believes off-site training is a waste of money and insists that employees train themselves as part of their work...draw your own conclusions from that logic.
