Pros

This is a relatively easy sale with those who are familiar with the company. The free food is also a bonus, but that comes with a price...

Cons

The direction of this office is completely unclear. The management team put in place to motivate the team to sell more is disturbingly incompetent and lacks the people skills to connect with their teams to push them forward. When team members try to give them advice on ways to improve, this advice is just met with biting remarks on how the sales teams are incompetent. Even though they speak highly of accountability, they refuse to accept any for their actions. The management team is unable to handle, process, and adapt to the acquisition changes quick enough to create a successful environment.

Pros

If you like 6 figures, catered lunch daily, and great teammates apply to be a Sales Advisor. - You would have to intentionally avoid your work to not make 6 figures. OTE is the true OTE (which I've seen mis-reported at other companies) - The office provides meals each day, all day - Each person on the Sales team is a personable, driven individual who is easy to work with, even through tough situations. This role is pretty new within CoStar/LoopNet but the career path is clear. This team is one that has unique access to opportunities with the company across the globe - I myself am eyeing an opportunity to work at CoStar Madrid, Spain. The culture is lax though each team member is a true professional and dedicated to their craft.

Cons

It's tough love from upper management but unless you have a significant attitude problem or strong sense of entitlement then this will not impact your day to day. Rather, it will make your performance better.

Pros

Nice people on my immediate team, new office in irvine, lots of training.. too much?

Cons

awful leadership, change goals often, no explanations, given double quotas, micromanaging, track your every move, things are black or white, no job security in sales, they will put you on a pip for any of the dozen metrics you dont hit, not great product, bad reputation among clients

Thanks for the feedback, and I’m sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy your time working at LoopNet. Customer service takes a lot of patience, particularly when the client is in a high-pressure industry like commercial real estate. Management and team cohesion varies, and I don’t know your particular circumstance, but we are always looking to develop our employees more, and are now introducing frontline management training to increase the skills and effectiveness of our managers. But rest assured that LoopNet is a flourishing company. Since it was acquired by CoStar Group two years ago, LoopNet has had double-digit year-over-year increases in the average revenue per user for LoopNet premium membership. In the third quarter of this year, LoopNet reached its all-time high for unique monthly visitors. CoStar Group continues to set the industry standard for commercial real estate information services, and LoopNet’s contribution as a marketing tool for clients is a critical part of the company’s success, so to call it a failure would be inaccurate.

Pros

I've worked at LoopNet a long time and have appreciated the opportunities to move up and grow in my career. Here are the best parts of working at LoopNet: - Designing, creating and building new technology that is improving the professional lives of our customers (commercial real brokers, agents, investors, developers, etc) and helping to re-shape and modernize an industry - The CEO of CoStar (parent company to LoopNet) and President of LoopNet have both founded and built their own companies from the group up and are entrepreneurs at heart - Strong vision and financial management from the c-suite has more than doubled the market cap in the last 12 months - Management actively seeks input from employee and responds to feedback - Opportunities to find and work on projects that excite you - HR and the leadership team care about the employees and help put people on the right career track - Coworkers that are supportive and who appreciate/respect the work/life balance at LoopNet - The benefit package and office perks are great (partially paid for my master’s degree, plenty of PTO, subsidizes public transit, provides a locked room for bike storage, pays 80% of the gym membership, free snacks in the office, regular happy hours, Giants games, etc) - The company was supportive and respectful when my children were born, enabling me to spend more time supporting my wife and kids - Great location in the heart of SOMA

Cons

I don't have any major cons about LoopNet. Sure, as the company has grown from a start-up to a 2,000 person company, there are more protocols and work rules, but that is no different than any other mid/large size company.

Pros

I can't speak to LoopNet after the CoStar acquisition, but prior to then, it was a fantastic place to work. The C-Suite was readily accessible and everyone worked together towards the ultimate goal of advancing LoopNet's status in the CRE marketplace.

Cons

Decent salary, but definitely not the best. Some teams did not get bonuses and incremental raises were small.
