BORING

Pros

Great hours. ok pay. Ok location. Great cafe. People seemed nice there. Bathrooms were nice. You get to dress casual.

Cons

Too quiet. Too boring. I didn't last long. I needed speed and momentum. The training class was a joke. I fell asleep countless times. Power point training ALL day on a projector screen. Need more hands on. They expect you to take a test after two weeks in a classroom of nothing but ridiculous PowerPoints and expect to know everything and how to do everything by then and if you don't pass you apparently get let go. Have someone more motivating for training classrooms at least to keep everyone awake. The quietness of the place is what got me. I like noise. I like movement. Fast pace. I was depressed seeing everyone boxed in cubicles all day looking miserable. Per the other reviews I'm glad I did not stay long as apparently it is difficult to move up the ladder work wise. If you like quiet and sitting at a desk all day this job is perfect for you.

Pros

I can’t think of one pro except it being a paycheck.

Cons

Toxic culture rampant in one large group in Chicago, as described see another person’s post from 12/12. Two managers drove out almost two entire teams with their micromanagement, intimidation, gaslighting and harassment, while upper management and HR stood idly by. Against all logic, said managers are still employed. Who would want to work in this stressful environment? Who wants to go to work in fear every day?

Not Unless You're Desperate

Pros

There are some amazing people working for this company. People I enjoy seeing and collaborating with every day. MMC offers a large suite of benefits, though employee contributions are high. Decent PTO allotment.

Cons

Management, from the top all the way down, is a complete disaster. When you can actually get in touch with them or get them to call you back, they're typically dismissive and offer you empty promises. They have no interest in you or your career development. On that note, there really is no opportunity for growth with this company. Be prepared to stay in the same role for your entire career here and receive minimal to no merit increase or bonuses. Work life balance is abysmal, and with the continued flood of people leaving the company this has only gotten worse. Rather than hire new, competent employees they will either just shift the work to a remaining employee (with no adjustment to compensation) or will take months to fill the position, but refuse to pay someone who's qualified enough to perform well in the position. While MMC touts being family friendly and caring about their employees, in my 5+ years experience there I haven't seen that to be the case. More than anything this place has the feel of a good old "boys' club." Sales is where all the awards and recognition are directed, while the rest of the staff is ignored and overworked.
