Pros

- Amazing coworkers and mentors - Fun, close-knit culture - Laid back dress code - Opportunity to work from home - Good rewards and strong incentives for going beyond what is required - Improving opportunities for personal progression and promotion For many positions, Medicity offers an excellent opportunity to start a career instead of just another job. In my experience the company provides resources for those who want to learn, and opportunity for those who want to go the extra mile.

Cons

- Hiring processes are often ineffective - Resource and Knowledge Silos are still a big problem - We need more FTE on site for QA engineers and haven't back filled positions. This may change in the near future as new management provides proof of concept for new directions

Pros

There are still some wonderful people at this company, but they all seem to be jumping ship at an alarming rate. The company can provide good technical exposure to the complexities of the health system to employees... unfortunately, a lot of people got stuck in siloed positions in the past. However, it seems that this trend is changing. I have heard of a lot of internal transfers lately which is definitely a step in the right direction.

Cons

Management is clueless about the needs of the company. Innability to deliver products to already disatisfied customers is a big kick to morale - there are multiple reason for this, the biggest being a huge lack in the development organization. Leadership tries to jam a "quirky culture" message with every other breath, but then mandates working in the office - very much a suit and tie mentality and not a dev / tech firm outlook. Employees are quiting in droves!

Pros

Medicity has some good product lines and quite a few loyal employees. Work is fairly flexible - if you need to take time off, it's generally not a problem, flexible shifts and in some positions, the ability to work remotely.

Cons

Medicity is trying to grow up, it just doesn't know how. The company keeps trying to function as a startup when in reality, they should have transitioned to a small-mid business plan. The product lines they have are okay, but could be so much more if the Product team was allowed to own their products instead of Operations and Sales. This causing a constant state of chaos and firefighting. The executive staff has built an environment of fear and distrust. No one is empowered to make decisions without approval from the COO. Employee survey results are terrible, yet nothing is done to fix any of the issues. Crazy sock day just isn't going to resolve things. Executive management increased by 200% this year. The rest of the staff decreased due to layoffs and atrophy. And considering the parent company is Aetna, benefits are shocking terrible.
