Pros

The people are so friendly and talented

Cons

This place went from amazing to a bomb that exploded within a short frame of time with a PE acquisition to our own offshore acquisition after laying off around 110 people not including contractors. The ceo and founder then left the company. We were told we were going to be sold for parts and that’s pretty much what’s happening. I think the company will sell itself again in 2 years and there will sadly be no more culture from now on. All of this after the CEO was clear for years he did not want to sell. Blew our minds when we saw rich white men pretending to care about our futures (PE) and to make things worse, the equity pay out was horrible.

Pros

The people Used to have a positive culture Remote work

Cons

C-suite leadership couldn't seem to be LESS invested, they don't engage with boots on the ground any more, are clearly either bored or waiting for their chance to exit (guessing there's some on exit paths already that just haven't been announced). Middle level leadership is a mess, most folks in the VP/SVP role spend their time trying to undercut other teams internally rather than work together to get anything accomplished. Most people in these roles seem to only care about getting the next title - they regularly cause chaos, drop the ball and create a negative culture all while taking credit for their team's work. There are a few VP/SVPs who are especially problematic and openly treat junior employees terribly. The company scrapped the internal DEI working group at a time when they actively had trouble retaining employees of color, there was a promise to create a new committee, unclear if that ever happened. Culture VERY quickly went from 'all are included and valued' to, don't talk about DEI too much.

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. This is not representative of the environment we strive to create and we’re sorry this was your experience. We take concerns about engagement, cross-team collaboration, and employee perspective very seriously, and these remain key areas of focus. With new leadership in place, including our CEO Adam Stambleck, we are focused on strengthening how we operate and continuing to build a collaborative culture. . Private Equity Endgame

Pros

Reasonable compensation rates for roles outside of engineering. There are plenty of kind and talented people, though your experience will vary widely based on the org you're with and the exec you report to.

Cons

Classic private equity acquisition playbook: buy a SaaS company, lay off 15-30% of the workforce, promote existing employees into new roles that used to comprise 3 jobs, and steadily offshore engineering teams to cut costs. They've always struggled to retain staff of color, which is a bright red flag.
