Pros

Free coffee. Free pizza sometimes. People that work with you are down to earth and willing to help you. The pay was actually not that bad. It's a job to get right out of college to build your resume.

Cons

9/10 new hires are "let go" after the first 4 months. Don't let the recruiters fool you. This place is awful. You can work your hardest and be $1 away from hitting your number and still get "let go". You are just a number to them. Office politics are so blatantly obvious it's sickening. This job is extremely stressful because you have no clue when you will be "let go". Managers want you working non-stop without taking any breaks. If you go outside to eat a sandwich, your manager will go out of his way to confront you about why you should be cold calling instead of eating a sandwich (this is not an exaggeration because it happened to me over and over again). Do not believe any of the 5 star reviews. They are not real. Advice: If you decide to take this job immediately start looking for employment elsewhere. You will regret it if you think you're going to last in this "company".

Pros

there were no pros about this company it is terrible and hope they fold soon

Cons

This is a terrible company... I worked for PLS for 5 months. In the first three months I worked under a successful account executive who's book of business was mainly built off of steel pipe and he was suppose to be my mentor. The man never spoke a word to me, even after I tried to strike up a conversation with him multiple times. he had multiple other logistics coordinators run his book and he really only spoke with upper level executives even within the company. After the first 3 months we went through a very haphazardly put together sales training that consisted of sloppy power points that several managers would teach. I was never really taught how to properly sell their services and how to properly approach prospects on the phone. The new manager that I had in sales was only concerned with the his current team and didn't care for the new people as his focus was moving to the south side office instead. The goal in sales everyday is to have at least 2 1/2 hours of talk time on the phone and I would always reach the mark and often eclipse to almost 3 hours. I worked my butt off for this company for the time that I was there and even though I was told in the interview if I fell short of my first sales bench mark they would work with me to become successful as long as I was putting in the work which I was. They unfortunately did not match the hard work that I put in for them. PLS does not value hard work, if they truly did they would have kept me on and given me some more time to develop a book of business. They cater to the people who are lazy and get lucky with one or two good accounts and coast on them for meeting their benchmarks. extremely high turnover rate and if you want to be successful don't plan on making and new friends. After 3 months in sales if you're not exactly at 1500 in margin you're out(like me) after 6 months if you're not at 10k in margin you're out. This is a CUT THROAT company not a competitive one.

Pros

The biggest pro is that you are guaranteed to get a full time offer, degree or no degree (none required). Casual office attire.

Cons

Like the other posts, I find it very strange that one finds pages of good reviews before getting to the scoop on the true PLS. It raises the question of how they got so many good reviews - I would like an answer to how they got employees to say such things - incentives? The company is essentially a pyramid scheme in the sense that they ride new employees to sign up new customers that are then gifted to the long term personal. They preach unethical behavior (a few specifics so their public relations can't give me a hard time) such as screwing over carriers out of detention and even going after prospects that are within the 60 days rule on salesforce. The job usually lasts 6 months or 9 if you succeed. Sales training consists of a 30 minute slide show. **changed to overtime when the law was going to shift and then changed back to longer hours and no OT after the injunction in Texas...... **
