Structured onboarding/training, collaborative environment, and employee ownership
Pros
- Structured onboarding process: each new CSR is assigned a veteran of the staff to serve as a mentor and guide us newbies through the different functions and cultural quirks of the business. We also had monthly touch-base meetings with our direct supervisor, which made it so I always had a sense of how I was progressing and what I could work on. - Collaborative small-team environment: there are people from all walks of life and lots of different levels of experience, but the common thread among us is a desire to help one another out. Palmer-Donavin is a B2B distributor as well, so the customer-service experience is a little less chaotic than a lot of traditional B2C jobs in this function. - Excellent primer in the functions, culture, and values of the company, and a tremendous springboard into a future here. - Employee-ownership means everyone has a common stake in the company's success - Lots of opportunities for professional development and internal advancement
