Pros

Did you just break up with your girlfriend/boyfriend and you're in the market for your next toxic relationship? Do you watch Instagram reels about unhealthy corporate expectations and you think to yourself "I wish I could relate to this?" Are you yearning to make besties through trauma bonding? Do you wish to grow your professional skills by being continuously misled? Do you want to work for months to surpass all your metrics to receive your quarterly bonus and be fired with no explanation just two days before that bonus is supposed to be paid? Then welcome aboard, babe, you've found the right employer with Paycom. I wrote a 5 star review on Glassdoor for Paycom ~6 years ago after being pressured by leadership to write a "positive review only or don't even bother posting." Well, it's time for an update. Pros: the canned response I'm sure to receive on this review from some recently hired chap in marketing stating that the expectations are world class, yada yada is true. They are, as they should be. We are professionals and the company is all about winning. You can make decent money if you are in a low cost of living city (as pay is the same per role whether you're hired in LA or Kansas). You can make lifelong connections that will be there for you and help you out when you're ultimately laid off while being a top performer with no write ups whatsoever and even if your leaders are begging to keep you on.

Cons

Cons: y'all, I'm tired. I worked for Paycom for 10 years. 10 years of working nights/weekends, prioritizing work travel over my family, never saying "no" to anything asked of me above my role's expectations because I wanted to be the best. And I was one of the best. I did it. I hustled. Read the reviews and not the ones the sales reps that just got hired are "kindly and totally voluntarily" asked to write. Look up Reddit posts from previous employees. The truth is everywhere - don't ignore it. 10 years and not a single person above a regional manager will care about you, your work, the millions you make the company, or the "high standards" they set. The CEO cares about one thing, his wallet. He has fired over 40% of the company in the last 12 months. Everything I wrote in my last review no longer exists. Paycom 10 years ago was a great place to work. We even used to fill out Gallup! We haven't in years after a few rounds of pretty low scores, how convenient. The "Top Place To Work" awards - not a single person in the company that I know submitted anything to those surveys, they are hand picked by leadership. Be with your family, don't be ashamed to work for money first and not just cause joining a cult is kind of fun. Feel the freedom. Feel the wind blow in your hair and sleep well at night knowing you are actually valued for going above and beyond.
